Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Happy “Fry-day” y’all ! I don’t go out to restaurants really anymore between COVID-19 and the lack of vegetarian/vegan restaurants in my town but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss me some fried cheese sticks ! This version sounded fairly simple but tasty so I gave it a shot.

So mine didn’t turn out as pretty as what you’d get in a restaurant but they did taste good and I loved how long the mozzarella got stretched out without having the whole thing come out !

Easy Onion Rings

Happy Fry-Day y’all ! I missed eating fried onion rings so when I saw this recipe was vegan and was being pitched as being easy, I knew I wanted to try it out !

Oh my god, these were AWESOME !!!! The onion was sweet and tender, the batter had an incredible crispy crunch to it and when you bit into the onion ring, the entire onion ring didn’t come sliding out ! I don’t know how much difference it will make if you change these three things, but I went with the 1/2-inch cut, I used Michelob Ultra beer and I used regular flour instead of gluten-free flour

Fried Pickled Jalapeños with Sour Cream Ranch

Happy “Fry-day” y’all ! I’ve had fried jalapeño poppers before but never fried pickled jalapeño slices so when I came across this recipe online I figured I’d give it a try.

Oh these were so good ! Being a fried item, you do need to eat them sooner rather than later after they’re cooked if you want to enjoy the crispy batter. The heat of the jalapeño slices still comes through and it tastes great with that dip ! Mommy and me both agreed that the fried slices can stand on their own but that sour cream/ranch/lime zest and juice blend just added a creamy, cool bright contrast to the fried spicy battered jalapeño slices.

Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rattlesnake Bites

Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rattlesnake Bites 1Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rattlesnake Bites 2

I thought it would be fun to share a fried food every Friday, a sort of “Fry-day Friday”. Today I tried out delish’s “Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rattlesnake Bites“. Not having much experience frying, this felt like it was a bit of work but after biting into one of these, it was all worth it ! The cheese gets all melted and gooey (as you can tell in the second picture), there’s some nice heat from the jalapeño and the pepperjack cheese I used in place of the Monterey Jack, and the panko I used when I realized I forgot to buy plain bread crumbs probably gave this recipe a crispier texture than the bread crumbs would have. These bites can stand on their own but dipping them into some ranch takes it to the next level of deliciousness !

If there’s one part of this that I couldn’t deliver on as well as I’d hope, it’s the part where they tell you to shape the balls of cheese and squeeze tight. I really thought I had but when it came time to fry them, some of the balls started to look a bit more… patty shaped. Thankfully they were still just as delicious, just in a different shape.

I really do hope you try these out for yourself, they would make a great gameday snack or general party food !

Legally, I have to mention that I wasn’t paid in any way to mention delish.

Take care y’all !
